《实用英语口语》的教学对象为高职院校非英语专业的大一新生，包含普招和自招生。尤其是比较重视学生口语能力培养锻炼的文科专业类的大一新生。他们大多已有一定的英语基础，但口语表达能力较弱。本课程精选的10个口语话题，覆盖了日常生活中与外国人的简单交流的small talk 中的主要内容，帮助学生在日常活动中模拟或套用常用口头交际句型，就日常生活提出问题和简短回答，鼓励学生和外国人进行简单的口语交流。
