随着经济全球化的深入发展，国际贸易、投资和商务活动日益频繁，企业不可避免地要应对来自全球范围的更加激烈的竞争。与许多跨国公司相比，我国企业在国际化环境下成功运作的经验不足，国际化经营水平还比较低。更重要的是，我国国际商务专门人才比较短缺。适应经济发展的要求，加速国际商务专门人才的培养和培训，已经成为我国高等学校面临的紧迫任务。外贸英语属于专业英语，学生除需要掌握外贸业务的基本理论知识外，还要能熟练运用英语从事商务谈判、草拟商务信函、拟定合同、制单结汇、办理保险、投诉理赔等外贸实务工作。<外贸英语实务>这门课程正是着眼于将外贸知识和英语应用能力“融合”的形式，遵循专门用途英语教学的原则，注重“系统性”、“实用性”和“实训性”特色。
