“Histology & Embryology” is a foundation course of biology and medicine for University freshman. Histology is the study of the microscopic structure and function of cells and tissues of human body. It is commonly performed by examining tissues and organs by sectioning and staining, followed by examination under a light microscope or electron microscope. We introduce microscopic structure and function of four basic tissues and various organs of the body.
Embryology is the science of the development of an embryo from the fertilization of the ovum to the fetus stage. Currently, embryology has become an important research area for studying the genetic control of the development process. We introduce early development and differentiation of embryo, formation and development of various organ system of the body as well as congenital anomalies.
